About National Arboretum Canberra
The Arboretum is one of the world’s largest living collections, spanning over 250 hectares. You can find rare and endangered trees here as well! The iconic Margaret Whitlam Pavilion offers an award-winning Village Centre with its onsite restaurant that also serves coffee & snacks for those who want to stay longer than just lunchtime. POD playground means there are always kids around playing games while adults enjoy their own meal or work catching up.
The Arboretum is a place of conservation, science research and education. It also features award-winning architecture as well as multiple use trails for runners or cyclists who want to enjoy the outdoors while they exercise their legs!
The Arboretum has been a place of beauty and grandeur since it was opened in 2013. Over 15,000 visitors came to explore on opening day of the festival; now over million people from all around have come here as well!
What to do at National Arboretum Canberra
The Arboretum is a place of exploration where you can learn about the natural world and its importance in our lives. The grounds contain award-winning architecture, conservation science research for future generations to enjoy at their leisure as well as open green space perfect for running or walking with family members along multiuse trails that wind throughout it all!
The arboretum has some outstanding views and an open-air stage. The buildings include the Village Centre, which houses a cafe with restaurant and food options to enjoy while you're out exploring. They also have gift shop where unique items can be bought for souvenirs or just because it's nice! And if that isn't enough there is more inside this building - all of its stone was sourced form Wee Jasper NSW. On top off everything else, we've got our very own little event/ceremony pavilion called "The Margaret Whitlam."
